Free Range Aoudad Hunting
Barbary sheep, or Aoudad, originate from North Africa but were introduced to Texas in the 1950s and have since established huge free-ranging populations. Although there are many high-fenced hunting ranches in Texas where you can hunt aoudad, a fair-chase hunt in West Texas offers a more authentic hunting experience that we believe is worth seeking. All of our aoudad hunts in West Texas, as well as our New Mexico aoudad hunts, are completely free-range and fair chase hunts that show you what sheep hunting is all about!
Private Ranch Aoudad Hunts
Radiant R Outfitters hunts aoudads on several private hunting ranches in West Texas. These properties hold incredible densities of Barbary sheep and hunters can expect to see groups of 15, 20, or even 30 or more rams in a single group, all with 30+ inch horns. Because of the density of sheep and above-average trophy potential, we seek to shoot rams that are 32 inches or bigger, with 100% success rates on our 3-day hunts.
This is truly as good as aoudad hunting gets!
Accommodations
You will be staying in a modern ranch house with running water, power, heating/cooling, and an in-camp chef during your West Texas aoudad hunt. Our main ranch house can accommodate large groups of up to 7 hunters for those interested in a group aoudad hunt, however, if groups are mixed, we will never take more than 3 hunters at a time to ensure the best possible experience for each of our clients.
